Andy Kihene Armijo, 72, passed away on September 17, 2021. He was born May 30, 1949, in McNary, Arizona, the son of Juan and Teddy (Estrada) Armijo.
He loved building his life in northeast Arizona and in 1975, he began working at the papermill in Snowflake, Arizona where he spent 37 years before retiring. While there, he was a DI Operator, was especially proud to be part of their emergency response team and made many lifelong friends.
His sons Matt Armijo and Ty Armijo were his pride and joy and he loved to watch them play sports in school and he taught them how to work hard. Both boys attribute their hardworking success to their dad. As his boys married, Matt to Diana and Ty to Lisa, he enjoyed spending time with their families. He always had advice to give and a story to tell.
Andy and his wife of 33 years, Barbara Armijo spent a lot of cherished time gardening at their home, taking forest rides in the Jeep and taking care of each other through the years. Barbara brought two (2) daughters of her own, Tammy and Heather Valentine, to the family and Andy became a bonus dad to them too.
Through Matt and Diana, Ty and Lisa, Tammy, and Heather, he had 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was a brother to Beatrice (Armijo) Graham, Bobby Armijo, Gloria (Armijo) Vasquez, and George Armijo. Andy was a beloved brother-in-law, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend to many more who will miss his big laugh, beautiful smiles, heart felt hugs, practical jokes, and long-drawn-out stories.
He was a huge advocate of his 2nd amendment, loved Donald Trump and Tom Brady, and created beautiful projects from his shop.
