Annette (Rhineheart) Hancock Obituary
Annette Rhineheart Hancock was born September 30, 1962, to James Edward Rhineheart and Margaret Ann Crandell in Winslow, Arizona, passed away April 26, 2026, in Taylor, Arizona. It is with great sorrow that we say goodbye to this wonderful daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother.
Annette attended school in Heber, Arizona. She married Timothy Jay Hancock and became the mother to Derick Trey and James Taylor. Shortly after their marriage she became a cosmetologist and worked as a beautician in Price, Utah while her husband worked in the oil fields. Later, she worked at the Sequoia Village School as a cook’s assistant and later created her own business, Flutter Bug Cleaning, in Show Low, which her son Trey runs today. Her other jobs included working for Solterra and Hospice Accord. Whether working with adults or children, Annette was always compassionate and attentive to the needs of others. It was common for her to notice a child who was unusually sad or quiet and go to find out the reason. There were times that she gave her last dollar to pay someone’s light bill or buy clothes for a needy person. For a year she cared for her grandmother who had dementia, which takes patience and consistent understanding. Annette always allowed her grandmother to feel her genuine love and concern.
Annette was an artist, painting many beautiful works of art. She never sold them, just gave them away as gifts to friends. Most did not know she was also a poet, but she poured out her heart on the page as readily as she did on the canvas and in love to those around her. Annette was a woman of varied talents and was always learning. Her latest challenge quilt making. She made some beautiful quilt tops for her family. She was well loved and we well miss her.
Annette survived by her mother, Margaret Ann Crandell Rhineheart, her brother Tony J Rhineheart, husband, Timothy Jay Hancock, son, Derick Trey, and grandson, Roman James Hancock. Preceded in death by her father, James Edward Rhineheart, brother Justin E Rhineheart, and son James Taylor Hancock.
