It is with deeply broken hearts and extreme thankfulness for the time we were given, that we announce the passing of Barbara Gail Quade. Barbara, 74, of Show Low, Arizona, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer on December 17, 2025, surrounded by her family and the immense love of all that knew her.
Born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Lois and Gilbert Jensen, Barbara grew up with boundless spirit and a deep passion for life. She graduated from Fort Dodge High School and moved to Arizona, where she met and later married Randy Quade in 1973.
Barb was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, sister and friend who embraced every moment with warmth and intention. She was known for her love of gardening, art, singing, sourdough bread, cherished traditions, and her dedication to family. Her most cherished qualities include her unwavering support, quiet strength, protective nature, deep patience, generous forgiveness, and boundless love.
Barb is survived by her husband, Randy Quade; her children, Cara and Jed Quade; her grandchildren, Sydney, Aiden, Nathan, and Aaron; her sisters, Mary Jensen and Pam Weger; brothers, John Jensen and Scott Johnson; and countless friends who cherished her kindness.
A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held in the summer of 2026, when we can honor her memory in the sunshine, among flowers, and surrounded by the beauty she loved so dearly. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s hospital, a cancer research foundation, or to one of the three hospice programs in the White Mountains.
Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and family – a reminder that a life well lived is measured not in years, but in the joy we bring to others. Don’t cry because it’s over; smile because it happened.
