Beth Skidmore Haws Obituary

Beth Elaine Skidmore Haws passed away March 16th, 2022, in her home in Taylor, Arizona surrounded by her loving husband and children. She was born June 19th, 1960, in Rexburg Idaho. Beth grew up in Mudlake, Idaho. She spent summers in the mountains at the sheep camp with her dad, mom and siblings, swimming in the canal and playing games. She married Rick Haws on May 28th, 1983, in Mudlake, Idaho, and were later sealed as an eternal family in the Logan Utah Temple on May 28th, 1999. They were married for 39 years. They lived in Idaho for 14 years where they had seven children. Then moved to Queen Creek Arizona and spent the next 13 years raising their family. Rick and Beth moved to Snowflake in 2010 where they have lived surrounded by family and friends for the last 12 years.

She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Her life was filled serving. She never met a stranger; she loved everyone and would provide service to anyone in need.  She loved to decorate cookies, wedding cakes, weddings, anything, and everything, but most importantly her home.  She served in the Young Women’s, Relief Society and Primary but her favorite church calling was teaching the 3-year-old sunbeams.  She loved playing (cheating at) card games, games with her grandchildren, camping, road trips, picking huckleberries and just having fun. She loved her grandchildren more than anything. She was proud of her cup that said, “No matter how hard life gets at least I don’t have ugly grandkids.” She loved to get her nails done. This last year, everyone at the hospital always told her they loved her nails. She always made the best of every situation; she loved the simple things in life and the humble life she shared with her loving husband.

She is survived by her eternal companion Rick; Children, Kemer, Shanell (Brady) Bullard, Whittney (Nathan) Solomon, Michael, Tyson (Raegan), Kaden and 19 grandchildren; Brennen, Addi, Kael, Katalyn, Barrett, Jailey, Taylor, Steyr, Porter, Wesson, Corbin, Evvie, Branch, Austin, Lillian, Millie, Clayton, Logan and Grant. Her Brothers and Sisters – Deana & (Dale) Larsen, Ed, Jennings & (Carma), Chris &(Deonna), Ami, Todd and brother-in-law Dean Umphrey.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Vernon & Beth Skidmore; daughter Amanda, and sister, Janet Umphrey.

Services will be Saturday, March 26th at 2:00 PM. Viewings will be on Friday, March 25th 6:00-8:00 PM and prior to the services on Saturday 12:00-1:30 PM.  All services will be held at the Centennial Blvd Chapel, 880 N Centennial Blvd, Taylor, Arizona.
