Betty Jean Roark Obituary

On May 20, 2025, Betty Roark, loving wife and mother of four children, sister and friend, passed away at age 85 in Snowflake, Arizona.


Betty was the first born in a family of 10 to Clarence Clem Rhoades and Stella Mae Brown. She was born in San Bernardino, CA. She married Johnny Mack Roark on August 25, 1960. They had 4 children: Thomas Roark, Karen Schmidt, Brenda Sorensen, and John Roark. Later in life her and John relocated to Snowflake in 1996 and started a new chapter in their life. They were soon followed by children and family.


Betty had a love of all crafts and baking! She enjoyed ceramics, and painting all of the molds she made from her kiln. She loved collecting new recipes and had a passion for making new foods and most of all baking new things for us to all try! Betty was known for her quick wit, sass, infectious smile, and her kind, compassionate spirit.


She is survived by two of her children Thomas and Karen, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
