Beloved wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend Charlotte Ann Perkins Smithson entered eternal rest, peacefully, to joyously reunite with her husband, daughter, parents and two brothers and two sisters on December 20th, 2023, in her home in Taylor surrounded by family. Ann was born in the old maternity home in Snowflake, AZ on November 4, 1942, to John Renmore and Marjorie Ann Mills Perkins, the fourth of seven children. She attended school in Taylor and graduated from Snowflake High School in 1960. After graduating, she attended Business College in Albuquerque, NM and lived and helped the family she lived with while in college. Ann came home after college and started working for the telephone company as a secretary. This is where she met the love of her life, Willard (Bill) Smithson and they were married April 6, 1962. Bill was in the Army and was stationed in Germany and they spent several months there enjoying the food and culture. Ann and Bill lived in Snowflake and Mesa for a few years before settling in Taylor in 1971. Together they raised their four children and mourned the loss of their baby daughter. They have also helped raise several nieces, nephews and welcomed 264 foster children in their home. She worked for the Taylor Elementary School Food Service program for 34 years serving food to many hungry children. Ann loved her family, Taylor, and church. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served faithfully in many callings. She touched many lives and set a good example of making the best out of hard circumstances with a happy, positive disposition, fun loving and witty personality. Ann is survived by her children Richard (Laurie) Smithson, Brenda (Chester) Jackson, Sherri (Sterling) (deceased) Warden, and Steven (Danyelle) Smithson. Sister Karren (Frank) Harris and brother Kay (Dee) Perkins. Fifteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by husband Bill, daughter Candi, parents Ren and Marge, brothers Ronald and Keith Ray and sisters Marilyn and Renee. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, December 30th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Love Lake Chapel, in Taylor, Arizona, with a viewing at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor.
