Chris Michael Tessay

Chris Michael Tessay unexpectedly left his family May 29, 2021 in Phoenix, Az. Chris was born December 25, 1986 to Nathan Tessay and Donna Duryea. He received his education from Cibecue Community School and later attended Sherman Indian High School in Riverside California. He lived in Cibecue all his life and worked as a plumber at Show Low Construction. Chris was a man of faith, as a baby he was baptized at the Lutheran church and attended the meetings there. Later in his life he was baptized at the Living waters Church and would go to go those services. He had many hobbies which included his talent as an artist, enjoying painting many beautiful pictures. As well he loved the outdoors, fishing, playing guitar, and keyboard. He was always humorous and always wanted to be funny. All the time Chris would be found riding around with the police officers from all over the place, including on and off the reservation. He would be with the police from Holbrook, to Show Low, to Cibecue, and even to Globe, Az. He had many close friends who were police officers.

Chris is survived by his father; Nathan Tessay, mother; Donna Duryea, stepfather; Travis Duryea, brothers; Sgt. Kyle Dettose, Kanan Reede, Brandon Tessay, Travis Duryea Jr, Clement Paxson, sisters; Dana Joy Reede, Naylene Tessay, Bethan Duryea, and nephew; Terrel Gatewood.

Chris is preceded in death by his sister Nadine Tessay.

We invite you to remember Chris by participating in the services, starting with the Wake on Thursday June 10, 2021 beginning at 10am at the Riverside Crossing in Cibecue. Followed by the funeral Friday June 11, 2021 Cibecue Pentecostal Church at 1pm.
