Daisy Marlene Lewis, known affectionately as Marlene to all who loved her, passed away peacefully at age 78, surrounded by family on October 23, 2024, in Lakeside, Arizona. Born on May 18, 1946, in Canada, Marlene's life was a testament to her faith-filled spirit, her loving heart, and her friendliness that touched the lives of many.
Marlene's early years were spent in Canada, where she was raised alongside her siblings. She pursued her passion for helping others by attending nursing school in her home country, and later, she expanded her skills by studying computer technology in Show Low, Arizona.
With her heart firmly rooted in the home, Marlene dedicated much of her life to being a homemaker, creating a warm and welcoming space for family and friends. She served the community by working at the Show Low School cafeteria and later, in the medical records department at Navapache Regional Medical Center. Marlene's compassionate nature shone brightly, earning her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and those she served. She loved children and served faithfully in her church for many years as a nursery leader and Sunbeam teacher.
Marlene possessed a remarkable talent for painting, both in watercolor and oils, and she had a particular fondness for tole painting. She had a love for the mountains and found great joy in driving through the countryside with her children and friends to witness the changing of the fall colors.
Family was the cornerstone of Marlene's life. She is survived by her loving daughters Robin Owens (Jason), Shannon McGown (Josh), and Meghan Lewis. She is also survived by her sisters Shirley Reiss, Dorothy Santer, Isobel Seida, Louise Malish, and brother Warren Roberts. Marlene was a cherished grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and light into her life. She was preceded in death by her father, George Roberts, her mother, Ada Mary Roberts, her brothers Cyril and Garry Roberts, and sister, Lillian Davidson. Her memory will be held dear in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Marlene's life was a blessing to many. Her presence was a source of joy and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her. Her memory will be cherished.
