Darlene Marie Petersen Owens, 69 years old, passed away at her home in Heber, Arizona, on January 8, 2023.  She was born on August 20, 1953, in Snowflake, Arizona, to Drew and Marie Petersen.  She was the second of six children.

As a child, Darlene loved to hangout and even wrestle with all her friends.  She loved to tease her brothers and their friends.

Darlene loved to bake especially with her mother.  She also loved to garden, and she had a green thumb in doing it.

Darlene married her high school sweetheart, Billy Owens, on June 16, 1972, and raised their family in Heber, Arizona.  Together Darlene and Billy loved to hunt, get wood, and fish.

Darlene was a devoted wife and mother, always thinking of her family first.  She was a meticulous housekeeper and always had a hot meal prepared before work or school activities.

Darlene was blessed to be a mother to her four beautiful children: one daughter, Myra (Frank) Parkinson, and three sons, Ross (Tiffani), Arlo (Jennifer), and Byron (Aunjani) Owens.  She loved her children and taught them to work hard, how to save money, and accountability throughout their lives.

Darlene leaves behind her beloved husband, Billy, of fifty years, her children, seventeen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, and many more family who loved her.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Drew and Marie Petersen; her brother, Mike; her in-laws, Billy, Sr. and Naoma Owens; her brother-in-law, Kenneth; and her sister-in-law, Sharon Williams. 

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints in Heber, Arizona, with a visitation starting at 10 a.m.  Burial will be directly after at the Heber Cemetery.  The family wishes to express their gratitude for the many calls, texts, cards, meals, prayers, thoughts, and service given to each of them during this difficult time.
