July 4, 1949 ~ October 25, 2024 (age 75) 75 Years Old

David Lapp Obituary

David M. Lapp went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2024, in Show Low, Arizona. While David’s death was unexpected, his loving wife Penny, was with him and he was quickly surrounded by family and friends.

David was born Salinas, California on July 4, 1949.  David was raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Where he went on to become a decorated Marine Veteran.  He served in the Vietnam War.  He spent over 40 years working in drywall and construction. David had a love for archery and competitions, owning an archery shop and developing a portable bow press.  Later in life he lived sharing his passion and knowledge of horse training with everyone he knew.

David is survived in death by spouse Penny Hayden-Lapp, daughter Dawn Lapp-Rodriguez, son Sean (Erin) Lapp, stepdaughter Moria (Mark) Mendoza, stepsons Aaron Baxter and Landon Hicks, sister Barbara (Wayne) Brown, eight granddaughters, three grandsons and several nieces and nephews.  David is also survived by friends who became additional sons and daughters, children who he saw as grandchildren and his friends who became family.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Edna Lapp; brother, Richard Lapp; sister, Shirley Sallaz, and two nieces.

The funeral services will be held on November 9, 2024 at the National Cemetary of Phoenix at 10am with a Reception to follow.

Family asks in lieu of flowers to make donations to Equine WellBeing Rescue, Inc in Snowflake, Arizona, or Dreamchaser Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation in Falcon, MO.

There will be a Celebration of Life on November 11, 2024, at Berties Café from 2 to 6 pm in Show Low, Arizona.
