Dirk Martin Obituary

Dirk Duane Martin was born on April 22, 1954, to Duane Benjamin Martin and Margery Sybil Tenney Martin in Chandler, Arizona.

He was taught to work hard at a young age.  He had a paper route, worked for his father's masonry business and later as a gymnastics coach in high school.

At 19, Dirk served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Germany.

Upon his return, Dirk married Emma Anita Robinson on August 22, 1975, in the Mesa Arizona Temple.  They settled in Mesa, Arizona, raising five daughters.

Dirk worked for Pepsi Bottling Company, in multiple positions, for 38 years.  Over the course of his career, he won several sales contests and awards. He happily retired in 2016.

Dirk had a love for the outdoors and shared this love with his family and friends. He was an Eagle Scout and continued serving in the Boy Scouts of America as a Scout Master for well over 30 years.

Dirk had a green thumb and spent many hours in the vegetable garden and teaching others his skills.

He lived a life of service and was always willing to jump in and help others.

Dirk is survived by his wife of 48 years, Anita; daughters Margery (Michael) Clark, Emily Martin, Amanda (Brian) Lindstrom, Amelia (Benjamin) Burrell and Ella (Jase) Zappanti;  and grandchildren  Tenney and Abram Clark and Reed and Henry Thompson.
