Edison Eddie Way Sr. went to be with Lord on September 28, 2021 in Mesa, AZ after a long battle with illness. He was born on July 28, 1958 to Anslin George Way Sr. and Viola Altaha Way in Whiteriver, AZ. Edison grew up in Whiteriver. He attended a placement program for 2 years and went to Kicking Horse, Montana where he earned his GED. He worked and served his community as a police officer, security for Whiteriver IHS, Game & Fish, WMATCO, Apache Enterprise, construction worker and many other occupations. Bur most of all, he loved to be in the outdoors/mountains hunting.
Edison is survived by Verlita Johnson (daughter), Edison Eddie Way Jr. (son), Toni Adley (step-daughter), Virginia Dalton (sister), Leon Way (brother), Barbara Tessler (sister), Wayland Way (brother), Monical Way (brother) and Josetta Way (sister). He was preceded in death by Anslin George Way Sr. (father), Viola Altaha Way (mother), Dorsey Way (sister), Anslin George Way Jr. (brother) and Karen Adley Way (wife).
A wake will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021; 10am at 3501 S. Sunset St in Fort Apache, AZ. With a home service to be held on Friday, October 8, 2021; 10am. Interment will be at the R-14 Cemetery in Cedar Creek, AZ.
