Eleanor Furman McCualey passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, in Snowflake, Arizona, surrounded by her family.
Ellie was born in Safford, Arizona on March 10, 1942, to Edward and Bertha Furman. Ellie spent her childhood in Safford, Arizona. Her family moved to Phoenix when she was 16, where she finished high school. She attended Arizona State College (NAU), where she met Michael McCauley. They were married in Phoenix, Arizona on November 2, 1961. They moved to Snowflake, Arizona in 1970, where they raised 4 children.
Ellie loved music and it was always a big part of her life. She taught many children in Snowflake how to play piano. She especially enjoyed singing with Liberty Belles for many years, where she made many friends.
Ellie was fun, generous, kind, ward, and loving to all that she came in contact with. She had many friends and made a big impact in the lives of everyone she met.
She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many capacities in the church including Primary, Relief Society, and the Young Women’s organization.
Ellie is survived by her children, Beverly (Jerry) VanWinkle, Jennifer (Kert) May, Scott (Marni), and Steven, her sister Ann Chesley, 17 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 10:00 am at the Pioneer Stake Center in Snowflake, Arizona. There will be a viewing prior to funeral services from 9:00 -9:45 am.
