This wonderful man returned home on April 12, 2022, surrounded by his family. He lived a full life and did so much good in his time on earth. He was born to John Daniel Masterson and Ruby Opal Johnson Masterson. He had one brother, John Harold. He was born in Bristol, Oklahoma, on June 11, 1929. His family moved to Mesa, Arizona, when he was about six years old. Growing up he was an exceptional athlete and lettered in all sports during high school. He married his high school sweetheart, Elma Jean Porter, and they had seven wonderful children and a beautiful Navajo foster daughter. He served in the Arizona National Guard from 1947 to 1949. He was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church positions during his life. He served a stake mission and a mission with Beverly at Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah. He built a very successful paint and body business from the ground up and operated two stores for 40 years. After 37 years of marriage, God took Elma Jean home. He then married Beverly Kleven Barnes. She had six grown children. After 20 years of marriage, God took Beverly home. He then married Helen Burke and they have a son, Benjamin.
He is survived by sons, Ed (Sharon), Don (Pam), Spencer, Aaron (Dana), Justin (Melanie) and Benjamin, and daughters, Brenda. (Daryle – deceased) Ethington, Linda (Harvey) Long.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruby; wives, Elma Jean and Beverly, his daughter Malinda Watts (Randy), son-in-law, Daryle Ethington, Eric Masterson (grandson) and Jayke Ellingson (great grandson).

Viewing is April 23, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1455 N. Harris Drive, Mesa, Arizona, 85203 10-10:45 a.m. The Funeral Service follows at 11:00 a.m.
Interment is at Valley of the Sun Cemetery, 10940 E. Chandler Heights Road, Chandler, Arizona 85248.
