Frances (Chavez) Gallegos Obituary
Frances Chavez Gallegos, 86, passed away on March 17th, 2025, after having spent ten beautiful days on the beaches of Rocky Point, Mexico. Frances was born on May 5th, 1938 to Lawrence and Mary Chavez in Flagstaff, AZ.
She was a staple in the Holbrook community, where she and her high school sweetheart, Gilbert Gallegos, owned and operated the El Rancho Restaurant, Motel, and Gift Shop for over 65 years.
Frances’ happiest moments were spent gathered around the table with family and friends sharing meals she prepared, playing cards or allies, sharing stories, or visiting with customers at the El Rancho.
She loved to travel. Whether it be overseas with friends, Disneyland, or cross country roadtrips with her grandchildren, she was always up for a new adventure.
Frances is preceded in death by her two parents, sister (Patty Ann Chavez) and husband (Gilbert Gallegos). She is lovingly survived by her brother Larry Chavez; her son Derek Gallegos (Alisa) of Snowflake, AZ; daughters, Melicia Thompson of Holbrook, AZ, and MArci Bischoff (Brent) of Gallup, New Mexico; five grandchildren, Gilbert Gallegos, Mercedes Bischoff, MaKenzi Ulibarri (Frankie), Camille Bischoff, and Brandon Pawlik; four great-grandchildren, Montana Ulibarri, Jesiee, Jayce, and Jordann Gardner, and Bella and Emma Pawlik; and one great-great grandchild, Edith Gardner.
Funeral services will be held at a later date, with further details to be shared soon.
