Frank "Dale" Smith

Frank “Dale” Smith went to be with the Lord on December 19, 2022, in Longview, Washington.  Dale fought cancer in 2017 and beat it.  It came back harder and lost his fight in 2022. Dale was born in Show Low, Arizona, on February 26, 1966, to Fran L. Heffington Smith and Charles R. Smith.

Dale went to Snowflake High School active in Cub Scouts, played football, baseball, and basketball.  He lived in Taylor, Arizona; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Longview, Washington.  He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Dale worked with his family at C.R. Smith Trucking as a mechanic and truck driver.  He was a truck driver and mechanic in Longview, Washington as well.  He was active in racing.  He never met a stranger.  Dale loved his family, friends, and fishing, and will be loved and missed by all of us.

Dale is survived by his parents, Fran L. Heffington Smith and Charles R. Smith; his spouse, Kelly Smith; his children, Chantel Griswold, Kimberly (Donald) Newell; Terrin (Laken) Smith, Tawny (Ivan) Garcia, Justin Gilbert, Lee Rosenberger and Nick Rosenberger; his sister, Cindy L. Smith (Ron) Brooks; Brothers, Wendell Smith, Alan (Jennifer) Smith, his aunt, Sandra Heffington Brumley; his uncles, Ronnie Smith, Jerry (Bette) Smith, Jimmie (Sharon) Smith; Wally (Ruth) Smith, his aunt, Cristine (Jerry); eight grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Leslie Smith; son, Ian Smith; his uncles, Kenneth Heffington and Steve (Gaye) Thompson; his grandparents, Geneva Simmons (Mac) Mahaffey, Sylvester Heffington, Reid (Wilma) Smith and Audra (Bud)Thompson.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 300 W Willow Lane, Taylor, Arizona.
