Gregory Logan Curtis, my brother, left this world on April 19, 2025, after a painful fight with bone cancer, while surrounded by dear friends. He left us swiftly and too soon. He resided in Show Low, AZ, at the time of his death. He was born in Great Falls, MT on December 18, 1947 to Grant & Joyce Curtis. He grew up with siblings: Jeff, Marci & Todd. He referred to his childhood as a wonderful adventure.
He was full of spirit, imagination, creativity & had a great passion for knowledge. He was theatrical, color filled, adventurous & honest.
My brother filled my earliest memories. He was protective, caring and engaging. He was a man of integrity & moral fortitude, with a brilliant mind, diverse interests, and an amazing ability to strive for expertise in all things that he perused. He showed a spirit of fairness & tolerance and was a truly good Samaritan to many.
A friend wrote that “he was a towering, complex, generous, intelligent human being who offered new perspectives & tools to live by and was a committed friend - always concerned for the well-being of others.
He was a wealth of knowledge, thus his nickname, “Webster”. He was “mission focused” and bored with the mundane, and a great debater. Many friends referred to him as the Renaissance Man – artist, chef, gardener, philosopher, legal expert, spiritual explorer, master carpenter, car enthusiast, adept researcher, problem solver, student of human nature & a man who loved his dogs! He rose above a life filled with hardship, adversity & sorrow by engaging his diverse interests. He was physically & mentally strong.
Greg practiced law, taught at the University of Washington, and owned his own practice in Choteau for many years. His preferred expertise was in estate planning and he was more at home with his many other interests.
Greg had three children, Chad, Tyler, and Chelsey. He adopted his only grandson, Jude Curtis, who was the most important person in his life. He is preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Logan Curtis, his father Grant Wellington Curtis, his grandparents Freeman & Inga Curtis and Dick & Marge Logan, and his sons Chad & Tyler. He is survived by his siblings, daughter, grandson & several nieces & nephews.
I have been truly blessed to call him my brother & friend. My life has been better because of him!
