With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Harry “Lynn” Ellsworth on July 7, 2026, at the age of 94.

Lynn was born on November 13, 1931, in Mesa, Arizona, to Lloyd H. and Elzina Ruth Ellsworth. Named after his grandfather, Harry Ellsworth, he grew up learning the values of faith, family, and hard work that would define his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his older brother, Reed; his younger brother, Day; his younger sister, Ann; his beloved son, Creston Ladd; granddaughters Kira and Jessica Owens; grandson Ethan Ellsworth and great-grandson Taft Ellsworth.

Lynn is survived by his devoted sweetheart and eternal companion of 73 years, Elaine, and their children (spouse): Jeffery Lynn (Jennifer), Julie Clement (Michael), Robin Willis (Lamar), deceased - Creston Ladd (DeeAnn Beall), Susette Richards (David), Shannon Cutler (Sean), Jeri Lyn Long (George), and Marcus Quinn (Kimberly). Together, Lynn and Elaine were blessed with 44 grandchildren and 109 great-grandchildren at the time of his passing.

He is also survived by his brother, Glen Ellsworth, and his sister, Becky Sanborn.

Lynn was raised in Mesa, Arizona, where his mother, Ruth, faithfully made sure he attended church and participated in Scouting through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Throughout his life, he served faithfully in many Church callings. As a Scout leader for 20 years, he influenced countless young men, many of whom still cherish the adventures they shared.

At the age of 19, Lynn served a two-year mission in the East Central States Mission. Years later, he and Elaine had the privilege of serving together in the St. George Institute Mission. His testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ, was the foundation of his life and was evident in the way he loved, served, and cared for others.

From his father, Lynn learned the value of honest work while helping farm the family’s 140-acre farm. He especially loved horses. As a young boy, he broke a pony an uncle had given him, beginning a lifelong talent for training horses. He became well known for breaking horses for himself and others, a skill that required patience, courage, and determination. He was also an accomplished calf and team roper and won the calf roping event at the last rodeo in which he competed.

Lynn loved farming and working the land. He spent countless hours on a tractor and was never afraid of hard work. Whether operating machinery or simply working with a shovel in his hands, he found satisfaction in building, improving, and caring for the land.

Lynn also enjoyed a career as a realtor and land developer. He built many beautiful homes, ranches, farms and subdivisions that contributed to the community.

Before serving his mission, Lynn courted the love of his life, Elaine Merrill. They were married on March 27, 1953, in the Mesa Arizona Temple shortly after his return. Together they created a beautiful life filled with faith, hard work, laughter, and adventure. They dreamed big, worked side by side to make those dreams a reality. Lynn and Elaine built and renovated many homes which were filled with an over abundance of love, fun, and lasting memories for their eight children who were his pride and joy.

Lynn also loved the game of golf and was proud to help expand the Snowflake Golf Course. Some of his treasured friendships were formed on the golf course, where he spent many happy hours.

Music brought great joy to Lynn’s life. He greeted many mornings with a song and shared his rich bass voice with family, church choirs, and the quartet “The Kinsmen,” which included his son Jeff, Gordon Farr, and Gordie Farr Jr. Together they entertained audiences at countless events.

More than anything, Lynn will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his strong work ethic, his love of family, his willingness to serve, and his ability to make life fun. His greatest joy was his family, and his greatest legacy is the faith, love, and example he leaves with each of them.

Though he will be deeply missed, his example and influence will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Lynn’s family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for the many prayers, acts of kindness, and expressions of love they have received during this time.
