Helena Cichomski Carter, 83, passed away at her home in Snowflake on March 1, 2024. She was born Helena Cwierz on August 22, 1940, in Buenos Aires, Argentina to parents Wladyslaw and Wanda Cwierz. She enjoyed music, theater, and spending time with family. She also had a passion for sharing and growing her relationship with our savior, Jesus. The Cwierz family moved to Chicago in 1955. In 1959, she participated as Miss Poland in the International Trade Fair competition and won the title of Miss International Trade Fair. She married the love of her life, Celestyn Cichomski, in 1962, though their marriage was cut short when Celestyn was called by God only three years later. She moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1973 where she met, married, and enjoyed 16 wonderful years with Paul Carter. She settled in Snowflake in 1995, where she found a loving community of friends. She is survived by son Bob Cichomski, daughter-in-law Cori Cichomski, grandchild Sarah Cichomski, and brother John Cwierz.
