Howard Jackson Obituary

Howard Delano Jackson, Sr. was born May 3, 1937 in Ajo, Arizona.  He spent most of his life in Ajo.  It was there that he became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter –Day Saints.  Howard was a shy boy who grew into a confident young man.  He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Kentucky.  Later, as he attended ASU he met his beautiful wife, Connee Jean Nielsen.  They were married in August of 1963 and were blessed with 9 children.  Today, their posterity consists of 36 grandchildren, 58 great- grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Howard was instrumental in helping organize sports programs for the youth of his community, often coaching them also.  He coached Little League Baseball, Little League Basketball, was an assistant coach for the High School Girls Basketball Team and was part of the coaching staff for the first High School Girls’ Fast-Pitch Softball Team.

He also volunteered his time helping with community events, church events and assisting friends with round-ups, ranching and many other odds and ends. Howard also became known for his talent of witching water wells for people in the area.

Howard has completed his mission here on earth and is now able to rest and enjoy the company of his wife and other family members.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Connee; a son, three grandsons, his parents, brothers and sisters.  He closes out his generation on earth as he continues to live and enjoy family on the other side.
