Jerel Hawthorne Obituary

Jerel James Hawthorne entered into rest on July 15, 2021 in Sun City, AZ; surrounded by his loved ones.  He was born May 22, 1995 to Bonnie Hawthorne and Harold Hawthorne Jr.

Jerel grew up in Whiteriver, AZ.  He attended school at John F. Kennedy Day School.  He then attended high school at Sherman Indian High School, Chemawa Indian School and then graduated from Alchesay High School.  He studied at NPC in Show Low with dreams of becoming a child Psychologist.  He worked at Blue Thumb Services, Inc., where he cared for adults and children with developmental disabilities.

Jerel is survived by his mother:  Bonnie Hawthorne; father:  Harold Hawthorne Jr.; brothers:  Jordan Hawthorne, Ronaldo Lupe and Harold Hawthorne III; sisters:  Tameshia Hawthorne and Constantine Hawthorne; grandmother:  Leona Hawthorne; 4 aunts, 1 uncle and many extended relatives.  He was preceded in death by Harold Hawthorne Sr., Darwin Dick Sr., Delthaleen McKee, Robert O. Pickering Sr., Lloyd Kane Sr., Constance Kane and Purcell Kane.

A one night wake will be held Thursday, July 22, 2021, 10am at 2709 N. Yellowbrick Rd. in Over the Rainbow, AZ.  The funeral will be on Friday, July 23, 2021, 10am at the White Mountain Apache Baptist Church in Whiteriver, AZ.  Interment will be at the Whiteriver Cemetery in Whiteriver, AZ.
