Jim Craig Hunt was born in Moab, Utah, on June 25, 1943, to Leo and Frances Hunt. He passed away on his 81st birthday on June 25, 2024.
He graduated from Holbrook High School and Northern Arizona University.
Jim served in the United States Nancy for four years during the Vietnam War. One of the highlights of that time was being on the naval ship USS Iwo Jima that picked up the Apollo 13 astronauts.
After living and working in the Dallas, Texas, area for forty years in the computer systems management business, he moved to Snowflake, Arizona, in the late summer of 2013 with his wife, Lorene.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene, and their only son, Sean. He is survived by a grandson, Leo Jack, together with four brothers and a sister: Jack, Jerry, Jay, Joyce and John.
He was an amateur botanist/horticulturist and would document his work and interests in essays. He also wrote novels and loved horse racing events. Jim was artistically gifted and left an impressive portfolio of his work.
