John Atlee Brooks

John Atlee Brooks passed away on September 16, 2025, in Goodyear, Arizona.  He was born to Sidney Brooks and Rachael Wallen on July 24, 1943, in Cibecue, Arizona.  John was just a legendary cowboy.

John is survived by Alfred (Virgie) Brooks, Alvin Sr. & Sharon Walker, Joe & Tonita Standing, Michael “Do-Doe” Standing, Jim Jake Standing and Debbie Standing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Brooks & Rachael Wallen; his brother, Elmer Brooks; his sisters, Erma Brooks Burnette, Lilliis Brooks Manuelito, Nyla Brooks Fall, Charlene “Whiteshark” Ethelbah.

The wake will begin Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 11 am at 413 S 1st Street in Whiteriver, Arizona.  The service will be at the same location on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 10 am.  Interment will follow at the Open Range Cemetery in Cibecue, Arizona.
