Joshua Huxhold Obituary

Joshua Steven "Josh" Huxhold, 45, passed away on February 18, 2026, in Show Low, Arizona. Born on November 4, 1980, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Joshua lived a life filled with adventure, learning, and a deep connection to those around him.

Joshua's early years were marked by curiosity and a love for exploration. Growing up in Salt Lake City during the historic floods of the 1980s, he and his parents found fascination in walking the sandbag-lined streets and witnessing the city's resilience. His family later moved to Magna, Utah, where Joshua attended Cyprus High School before relocating to the Navajo Reservation. There, he completed most of his high school education before moving to St. George, Utah. At Dixie College, he earned his high school diploma along with additional credits that prepared him for the next chapter of his life.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Joshua served his country with dedication and honor. His service included a year stationed at the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), where he embraced the opportunity to learn about new cultures and cuisines. Following in the footsteps of his grandfather and great-grandfathers, Joshua upheld a family legacy of military service. He was deeply committed to supporting his fellow veterans, raising awareness and funds for PTSD and other challenges faced by those who served.

Joshua's thirst for knowledge extended beyond formal education. He pursued diverse interests, including motorcycle repair—a skill that led him to earn his motorcycle license and enjoy rides through scenic mountain landscapes with kindred spirits who shared his passion for the open road. He also cherished his time working at "Kids Imagination Station," a platform that combined his love for creativity and learning.

A lifelong fan of WWE wrestling, Joshua not only enjoyed watching but also actively participated in the sport. He delighted in sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with others and even wrote stories for WWE-related outlets. His creative spirit extended to quoting passages from movies and books, as well as crafting science fiction stories that reflected his vivid imagination.

Joshua's kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone he met. He was known for his loving nature and willingness to support others through life's challenges. Whether entertaining friends with his humor or offering a helping hand to those in need, Joshua's presence was a source of light and warmth. Joshua later would invite Cody Reed to move in and take care of him in his struggles and assist with the rearing of his boys whom he loved very much - Gavin Little and Aiden Huxhold

He is survived by his beloved children, Harlee Huxhold and Aiden Huxhold; his father, Steven Huxhold; stepmother Iris Condie Huxhold; brother Matthew Huxhold; stepbrother Cody Adams; stepsister Jennie Steinbrecher; sister Alyscia Salinas (Huxhold) and her husband Jose Salinas; former wife and trusted friend Sarah Little; as well as numerous extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Joshua was preceded in death by his mother, Kayleen M. Barnum Huxhold; sister Tiffany M. Huxhold; and wife Christina M. Richardson Huxhold.

In addition to his many accomplishments, Joshua found joy in simple pleasures such as reading science fiction stories and spending time with loved ones. His birthday on November 4th coincided with a historic moment in U.S. history—the election of President Ronald Reagan in 1980—a detail that added a unique touch to his life story.

Joshua's family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to all who shared in his journey and created lasting memories with him. They invite you to leave comments or memories for Harlee and Aiden so they can preserve these cherished reflections in their journals.

May Joshua's legacy of kindness, creativity, and service continue to inspire all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held on March 14, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 01:30 PM at LDS Church  421 N Main Street Snowflake, AZ. Right next to Circle K and on the North side is the Pioneer Park
