Linda Gates Obituary

Linda Sue Gates, known affectionately to friends and family as Linda, was a beacon of love and kindness in the lives of all who knew her. Born on October 5, 1956, in Globe, Arizona, Linda's warm spirit and selfless nature were evident from an early age. She passed away peacefully on May 7, 2024, in Taylor, Arizona, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Linda's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family. She was a beloved mother to Jerry Moody, Tracy (Ron) Lewis, and Ronald Gates. As a sister, she shared an unbreakable bond with Cheryl Gates and Cora Graham. Linda's joy was multiplied as she became a grandmother to Ashley Bell, Willie Lewis, and Marybeth Lewis, and a great-grandmother to Isaac, Olivia, and Kai. Her nieces, nephews, and extended family members were too numerous to list, but each held a special place in her heart. She is preceded in death by her parents Beth and Franklin Gates, her sisters Dollie Richardson, and Debbie Carco, and her brother Dennis Gates.  Professionally, Linda spent many years in the food service industry, where her role as a bartender and waitress allowed her to touch the lives of countless individuals. Her genuine care for others shone through in every interaction, making regulars feel like family and newcomers feel like old friends. Beyond her work, Linda was a woman of many passions. She had a remarkable talent for sewing, creating beautiful pieces that her family will treasure forever. But above all, Linda cherished spending time with her loved ones. Whether it was a family gathering, a quiet afternoon with a grandchild, or a simple phone call to check in on a friend, Linda made sure that those around her felt valued and loved.  Those who knew Linda would describe her as the epitome of loving, kind, and selfless. Her actions spoke volumes of her character, and her influence extended far beyond her immediate circle. She had a unique ability to listen without judgment, offer advice without expectation, and give without seeking anything in return. Linda's presence was a source of comfort and happiness to many, and her absence will be deeply felt.  As we say farewell to Linda, we celebrate a life lived with an open heart and open arms. Her memory will live on not only in the stories shared among those who knew her but also in the acts of kindness that she inspired in others. Linda's legacy is one of love and selflessness, and it is a legacy that will continue to light the way for generations to come.  We take comfort in knowing that Linda's spirit will remain with us, guiding us through the tough times and reminding us to cherish the good. Her laughter, her smile, and her gentle nature are imprinted on our hearts. Linda may have left this world, but she will never leave the hearts of those who loved her.  In honoring Linda's life, we remember the joy she brought into our lives and the lessons she taught us through her example. To live with kindness, to love without condition, and to always make time for family and friends—these are the gifts Linda gave us, and they are gifts we will carry with us always.  Linda Sue Gates was a remarkable woman, and though her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit endures. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered as a guiding light in the lives of her family and friends. Rest in peace, dear Linda. Your love lives on.
