Loraine Daniele Benally

Loraine Daniele Benally entered eternal rest on August 5th, 2023, at her home. She unexpectedly left her loved ones after a long battle with illness. She was born on March 26th, 1986, to her parents Arthur Joseph Riley and Natalie R. Larzelere. Loraine lived in Whiteriver and attended East Fork Lutheran School then went on to Whiteriver Unified School District. She graduated from Alsenay High and was co- valedictorian of her class in 2004. She went on to attend college at U of A on a full ride scholarship and graduated in 2008 with her bachelor’s degree. Loraine returned to Whiteriver to work at Theodore Roosevelt School in Fort Apache as a paraprofessional for 7 years. While Loraine was attending college at U of A, she became fond of a young man Hansen Benally who later became her husband on August 20th, 2011. Her hobbies included the love for the outdoors! She loved to go fishing and camping. She was also an avid reader and could finish a book in hours if she wanted. She enjoyed playing board games and doing puzzles. Loraine also enjoyed sending and receiving “memes” through Facebook. She always loved a good joke and had a great sense of humor. Her laughter was contagious, and her spirit was so loving. She loved her fur babies and will be missed deeply. Loraine is survived by her Husband, Hansen Benally; her Mother, Natalie Larzelere; her Father, Arthur J. Riley; her Stepmother, Cynthia Riley; Brothers, Brandon Storm Nosie, Chris Dalton, and Joseph A. Riley; Sister, TiAna; Nephews, Karmelo Cook, Masiahs Dalton, Mason Dalton, C.J. Dalton, Alasko Dalton and Hunter Dalton; Niece, Layla Dalton; Maternal Grandfather, Victor Larzelere; Paternal Grandmother, Virginia Riley; Godparents, Victoria Burnette and David Riley. She is preceded in death by her Maternal Grandmother, Veronica Bead and her Paternal Grandfather, Dell Riley Sr. Loraine’s Wake will be held Thursday August 10th, 2023, at 10:00am at 106 Butterfly Ln. in East Fork. Her Home Funeral Service will be at 106 Butterfly Ln. in East Fork on Friday August 11th, 2023, at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Mission View Cemetery.
