Loretta Murphy Childs

Our Sweet Grandmother Loretta Murphy Childs went home to be with the lord on September 28, 2023, surrounded by loved ones who will miss her dearly. Loretta was born in Cibecue on June 5th, 1941. She lived in Cibecue all her life.

She was married to the late Theodore Childs Sr.

Our Grandmother Loretta was a home maker, one of her passions was sewing, making the most beautiful traditional Camp dresses for herself, her family, and friends. Loretta was very knowledgeable of her culture and traditions. She gave words of encouragement, knowledge, and she was one to give teachings. She was also a praying woman, Loretta is survived by her sons Elton (Coleen) Childs, Theodore (Amber) Childs Jr. Her daughters Pearlita Haven, Evangeline Childs, and Theodora Childs. Goddaughters; Abigail Burnette, Magrita Gregg, Carian Tessay Laura Dehose, and Elma Caddo, her 14 Grandchildren, and 38 Great Grandchildren, with many extended family. Loretta is preceded in death by her husband; Theodore Childs Sr., brother; Ernest Murphy, Sisters; Lola Machuse, Dicey Lupe, Jeanette Phillips, and Grandson; Ramson Haven. Our Grandmother Loretta will be brought back to her home at 5 N. Electric Dr. in Cibecue, Arizona, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 10am. There will be a 2-night wake, with funeral services on Friday October 13th, 2023, at 11am, and will be laid to rest Immediately following at Sunnyside Cemetery next to her Husband.
