Manley Dahkoshay entered eternal rest at his home in Whiteriver, Arizona, on November 28, 2022, surrounded by family and friends. He was born on October 6, 1934, in Whiteriver, to Quinten and Lilly Ethelbah Dahkoshay. After graduating from high school, Manley served first, in the United States Army, then in the Army Reserves from April of 1957 until April of 1963. During this time, he married his sweetheart, Essie Hawkins and started his family. After service Manley went to work for the Whiteriver School District and worked many years as a custodian and bus driver.
Manley is Survived by his sons; Manual Dahkoshay and Darrell L. Dahkoshay, and his daughter; Ida Dahkoshay, his sisters; Nellie Cody, Phoebe Thomas, Ynocencia Massey, Nettie Massey and Verna Dahkoshay, his daughters-in-law; Vanta Dahkoshay and Gail Dahkoshay, traditional Goddaughters; Anna Johnson, Denise Saunders and Kayona Preston, his great grandchildren; Lex Dahkoshay, Ariana Dahkoshay, Braelyn Dahkoshay, Cody Dahkoshay, Karter Dahkoshay, Calvin Dahkoshay, Aubrey Dahkoshay, Taylor Attakai, Kyrie Attakai, Brooklyn Tenijieth and Benny Tenijieth.
Manley was preceded in death by; his sweetheart wife; Essie Hawkins Dahkoshay, his parents; Quinten and Lilly Ethelbah Dahkoshay, his brothers; Wayne Dahkoshay, Larry Dahkoshay, Boyd Dahkoshay, Wesley Dahkoshay and Lonnie Dahkoshay, his sister; Eunice D. Pinal, and a grandson; Adrian “Smokey” Dahkoshay.
A viewing was held December 5, 2022, from 8:00 to 10:00 am with a funeral service following at 10:00am at the East Fork Lutheran Church, Whiteriver, Arizona. Interment followed the service at the Dove Street Cemetery, East Fork, Whiteriver, Arizona
