Marianna Holcomb

Marianna Holcomb, beloved wife, amazing mother, and true friend passed away peacefully on October 5, 2022, at her home in Lakeside, AZ, surrounded by her family. Marianna had been battling several illnesses over the past decade and showed her remarkable strength facing these challenges with the support of her loving husband, Elmer.

She was born to Marion and Virginia Ewers on March 31, 1945, in Champaign, Illinois. Her father declared that she looked like a "Peanut" when she was born earning her the nickname that was affectionately used by her many cousins and other family members throughout her life.

After graduating high school in 1963, Marianna became a beautician. In 1983, she graduated college and became a registered nurse. Later in life she became a nursing teacher at Northland Pioneer College.

On February 29, 1964, after years of friendship Marianna married the love of her life, Elmer Holcomb. Together they had three children, Kenneth, Kathryn (David), and Kristopher (Heather) and six grandchildren, Darian, William, Mason, McKenzie, Jace, and Haley. Marianna was incredibly loving of her family and was happiest when they were near.

Marianna was a woman of faith, joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1 969, she remained an active member throughout her life. She held many positions in the church, but her favorite was as a teacher of the gospel. Marianna was a gifted cook, family

historian, chorister, educator, and lifelong learner. She was an avid fan of "B" movies and almost all music. She was an animal lover and had multiple types of pets during her life.

Marianna was preceded in death by her father, mother, sister, Barbara, and brother, Charles.

Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral at the Lakeside LDS chapel on Saturday, October 1 5, 2022 at 1 1 am, there will be a viewing one hour prior to the service. Following the service the gravesite dedication will be in Taylor, AZ at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery.
