Mary Moon

Our amazing momma, mom, nana moon passed away peacefully May 9th 2025 at the amazing age of 97…WOW!

Mary was born on Oct 12 1927 to Richard and Lucille Wheatley in upstate New York.  She was the 3rd oldest of 10 children.

In her mid-thirties with her daughters and husband, Howard, she moved to Mesa Arizona. This is where she raised her family and spent most of her years.

Mary enjoyed working and was a nursing assistant and then worked as office administration support for local retail company’s.

After retiring she would spend a few years living in Texas and Hawaii but came back to Mesa in 2014.

Mary lived a very independent life and at the wonderful age of 93 decided to move to Pinetop and live at an assisted living.

Mary loved Baseball….her favorite time of the year.  There was always a game playing on her TV during the season.

She really enjoyed the cooler temps and mountains, card games with her family and having breakfast at all her local favorites.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Howard, her parents and 8 of her siblings.
She is survived by daughters Darcia Forrest (Tom), MaryAnne Gage (Wes), step daughters Karen Moon and Cheryl Hayes and brother Jim Wheatley.

She was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  

A celebration of her life well lived will be at a future date.

Mom would always say “I had a good day” and at the end of spending time together “Thank you for Everything”!

So, momma, mom, nana moon…here’s to a life well lived, love that was always abundant and a smile for everyone, we will make sure WE ALWAYS HAVE A GOOD DAY…. We Love You and THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!
