Mary Lou was born to Wallace and Martha Warner in Snowflake, Arizona, on June 23, 1939. After graduating from Snowflake High School, she went on to attend NAU. There she was in the Marching Band and graduated with her degree in Language Arts/English.
Growing up next door to the DeWitt’s, she became friends with, and later married the love of her life, LeRoy Owens DeWitt Jr. Family was a huge part of Mary Lou’s life and all that she did. Mary Lou was a faithful life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in most every capacity throughout her life, and also served two missions with her Sweetheart.
Mary Lou loved to learn, and she loved to teach! She taught ten kids how to be honest, kind, hardworking, loving, etc. etc. by her example of living what she taught. She also taught piano lessons, college English classes, quilting, and many other life lessons. She had a gift of making those around her feel loved and important, no matter their circumstances.
