Patrick Wayne Quintero Obituary

Patrick Wayne Quintero “Uncle” was born on June 5, 1965, to Gus Sr. & Violet (Kane) Quintero. He passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2024, at his home in Whiteriver, Arizona.

Patrick is survived by his brother: Timo (Rebecca) Quintero, his sisters: Kathy Kane-Quintero (Richardson Antonio), and Jolene (Morris) Antonio.

His grandchildren: Shalicia Colelay and Kaiya Thompson

His godchildren: Loren Siow and CJ Quintero

Aunts, uncles, many cousins, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends

Patrick lived most of his life on the “Rez” aside from going to a technical school in Phoenix for respiratory therapy. He was an avid reader, he read anything and everything. Uncle was so articulate and very intelligent. He loved listening to music especially his 45’s on his record player. He was well-versed in all subjects. Ask him anything and he’ll tell you the meaning or explain to you what it is, he was a walking dictionary. He was up to date on everything, celebrity news, political news, world news, and sports news. Uncle also loved watching sports: NBA, NCAA (Go Devils!), NFL (he loved them Cowboys), Olympics and he loved watching tennis! He would say “I’m in Australia at the Australian Open, or in France at the French Open or in England at Wimbledon.”

Uncle worked at Sunrise Ski Resort for many years as a bartender and a ski instructor. He also worked at the fitness center as a childcare instructor. He dedicated his life to working with children, especially with the special needs. He was a special needs instructional assistant at Whiteriver elementary school and currently at Alchesay High School (Whiteriver Unified School District) for 10+ years. He was a big Alchesay Falcons fan.

Uncle was well known; he had many friends. He will surely be missed. His laughter, his sense of humor, his kindness, his intelligence!

His funeral was on Wednesday January 31, 2024. He had a home service and is buried by his parents, sisters, brother, and nephews at the Red Hill cemetery in Cedar Creek, AZ
