Randy Lee Smith

Randy Lee Smith, 69, of Arizona, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, in Show Low Arizona. 

Randy was born in Joplin, MO, on January 23, 1953, the son of Jessie Marie Sargent.  Randy moved to Superior, AZ at the age of two and was later adopted by the late James Harry Smith.  A high school graduate from Apache Junction High School in 1971, Randy went on to develop a career with Arizona Public Service (APS) for 43 years. He retired early due to a motorcycle accident in 2004.  Randy had a love for his family and a great sense of adventure.  He loved camping, fishing, riding motorcycles and ATV’s, woodworking, and gardening.  He also enjoyed spoiling his dogs throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife Carol Smith (Riccio); his two sons Travis Smith and his wife Nancy Smith and Corey Smith and his wife Melissa Smith; his grandchildren, Natalie, Hannah, Nathan, and Timothy; his brother Charles (Chuck) Smith and his sister Brenda Chavez (Smith). He was preceded in death by his father James Smith and sister Carol Mitchell (Smith)

His family will receive relatives and friends at his celebration of life on April 9, 2022, 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Leisure World Community ballroom located at 908 S Power Rd, Mesa, AZ 85206.  In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in honor of Randy Smith’s.
