Renita Parrish Obituary

Renita Mae Johnson-Parrish, 50, of Canyon Day, AZ, passed away on Thursday, April 21st, 2022
after a valiant battle with brain cancer.
Renita is a member of the White Mountain Apache Tribe and was born on July 21st, 1971 to the
late Pastor Reno & Rita Johnson Sr. in Whiteriver, AZ.
After graduating from East Fork Lutheran High School in 1989, she continued her education at
Central Arizona College (CAC) of Coolidge, Arizona. It was at CAC that Renita would
eventually meet her husband of over 29 years, Berlyn Curtis Parrish.
They married in the Spring of May 1992. Their marriage vows declared their love for one
another and vowed to spend the rest of their lives together.
The two had five children: McKale, Brannen, Jalin, Kellen, and Ramar’e; and three
grandchildren.
Family was incredibly important to Renita as she lost her parents at a young age. She was a
dedicated mother and wife who effortlessly balanced her work and home life. She was an avid
member of the educational community. As an impassioned educator and believer in Christ,
Renita encouraged all her students to pursue a career they were passionate about. Through her
faith and inspirations, her sons and many interested students went on to pursue their degrees.
Renita was predeceased by her second-eldest son, Brannen Josh Parrish, and her parents, Reno &
Rita Antonio-Johnson.
She is survived by her husband; her brothers; her children; and her grandchildren. As well as
father-in-law, Mr. Julius Parrish & Family of Kayenta, AZ.
