Retha Fern Muder

Retha Fern Muder passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, just as she wished in the comfort of her own bed and home in Shumway, AZ. Retha was born on April 16, 1934, to parents Minnie and Robert Phillips in Texas and shortly thereafter moved to Globe, AZ where she spent her childhood.

After her first marriage, she met Ed Muder, the love of her life. They embarked on a new journey together “Galloping off to Gallup” to get married. They settled in Shumway, AZ where Retha spent the rest of her life cultivating her beloved flower garden and raising her youngest boys. She was very proud of her sons Daryl Echtinaw, Don Echtinaw, Pacer Muder, Cody Muder, along with her daughters-in-law Julie Muder and Juanita Muder.

After Ed passed, Retha spent many years exploring new horizons, embracing the great outdoors, and cherishing time with her grandchildren.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Edward F Muder, her daughter Donna Stilwell, and her siblings Paltha, Frances, and Gene.

She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

A graveside service will be held at the Shumway Cemetery in Shumway, AZ on March 29, 2025 at 10 am.
