Richard Allan Van Lieu of Show Low, Arizona, went to be with the Lord on January 31, 2024.
Richard was born February 3, 1936, in Sedalia, Missouri, to Clara Lorine Cole and Cecil Eugene Van Lieu. He grew up in southern California, and in high school he met his beloved wife, Sharon Howard. He had a genius-level IQ, worked a career for Xerox, and raised his family of three children. In the 1980s, he and Sharon relocated to Sedona, Arizona, where he was a well-known photographer, taking pictures of weddings and school events. Later, he was most proud of being a certified EMT. When Richard retired, he loved traveling and spending time with his family. While a quiet man, he was also a prankster and loved to joke around. Ultimately, he was a man of faith and loved Jesus.
Richard is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sharon Van Lieu; sister, Linda Van Lieu Kirkland; uncle, Wayne Van Lieu; children, James (Charlotte) Van Lieu, Debbie (Wayne) Fackrell, Keith Van Lieu; grandchildren, Sandi, Jennifer, Ryan, Gayle, Kristen, Brian, Brandi; and eight great-grandchildren.
Richard will truly be missed, but we look forward to the day when we see him again.
