Robert DeWayne Cotney, better known as Bob or Bobby, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his
adoring family on November 17, 2020. He was born on November 21, 1935, the only child of Robert Sylvester Cotney and Eunice Adell Holliday in Williams, Arizona.
Bobby lived a life of adventure, having joined the Army National Guard at 14 years-old. Of course when, at age 16, it was discovered how old he was his services were no longer required. He was a logger, a bull rider, a mechanic and drag racer, having built his own car, the Half Breed. Bob was also a hunter and competitive fisherman, competing at a national level. The biggest adventure though was raising his family.
Bob was a devoted husband and father, beloved of family and friends. A gentle man with a gruff voice and a joke or story for every occasion. He always had time to help a friend and the genius to create a solution to any problem. If something was broken Bobby could fix it. And he did.
Bobby has been proceeded in death by his parents; Robert S. and Eunice Adell Cotney, son; Gregory Earl
Cotney, and daughters; Vickie Cotney McCray and Monique Esperanza Cotney.
He is survived by his Wife; Pat Cotney, Daughters; Phyllis Foshee, Jennifer (Everett Brewer), Loralei
Cotney, Sons; Richard Cotney and Robert Cecil Cotney, 24 Grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren. 2 Brothers-in-law, 4 Sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. All of us will greatly miss him, but are comforted in knowing that his suffering is over, and he is resting in the Heavens above.
