Rodney Edgar Plympton Jr. Obituary
With a heavy heart we announce the death of a beloved husband, father and papa, Rodney Edgar Plympton Jr. He passed away peacefully at the age of 71, surrounded by family on January 17, 2024.
Rod was well known around town either for turning a wrench, or helping a friend. He played in a local band (Hired Hands) around the mountain, even opening for Merle Haggard. His family will remember him as the type of person who valued hard work, honesty, and the value of a man’s word.
Rod served in the Marines and is a Vietnam Veteran.
Rod is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Dara Plympton, as well as his children, Taryn (Bill) Dibell, Kevin (Michelle) Plympton, Keith (Tiffany) Plympton, Connie (Charlie) Goff and Erika (Jason) Lord. He left behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded by his parents, Rodney Plympton III and many loved ones.
We will be having a celebration of life for family, and close friends in the Summer.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Savior Hospice for the wonderful care of our loved one during the last weeks and days of life.
