Rodney Peckham Crook Obituary

Rodney Peckham Crook was born January 28, 1948, in Holbrook Arizona to William Peckham Crook and Susie Waite. He had two brothers, Eugene and John Orland Crook, and two sisters, Janice Crook and Elizabeth Petersen.

Rod was born and raised in Holbrook Arizona. He attended Elementary, Jr. High, and High School there. He loved going to the hills with his brothers and spending the days there and seeking out adventures.

In high school he worked as a bus boy at a local restaurant. He graduated in 1966 and then he joined the army. He served in Iran as an aircraft mechanic. He did some flying as well. He loved serving his country and his fellow Americans. He greatly enjoyed his time in the army. When he returned home in 1969, he went to Wyoming to work on a ranch. After a while he went to work for his Uncle Bill Coffee drilling wells.

In 1971 he started working for the Snowflake Paper Mill. He did a five-year electrical apprenticeship while there and was one of the top apprentices. In 1974 he met and married the love of his life, Teri Adair. In 1978 he began working for SRP and then in 1980 he returned to the paper mill as an electrical foreman. In 1983 he returned to SRP as an electrical foreman for seven years.

In 1991 he took a severance package from SRP and went to Cochise College for Aircraft Mechanics. In 1992 he went to work for Dynair Tech at Sky Harbor for six months. In 1993 he went back to the paper mill for five more years. In 1998 he returned to SRP where he participated in many classes and training courses to improve the plant and make it more efficient. He stayed with SRP until he retired in 2010.            

In the last 14 years he enjoyed retirement life and spending time with his wife Teri, his children, and their families. He dearly loved his family.

He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served as a primary teacher, a Sunday school teacher, a counselor in the elder’s quorum, and served a stake mission. He was also a ward and stake financial clerk for many, many years and served in the Temple as an ordinance worker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Susie Waite Crook. His brothers Gene and John Crook. His Grandparents. His Granddaughter Brytli Yates. And many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by his wife, Teri L Crook, and their 7 children: Justin (Michelle) Hall, Daniel (Brenda) Crook, Felicia (Ronald) Bowler, Sabrina Yates, William (Rachele) Crook, Christopher (Teri K.) Crook, Kristie (Evan) Farnes. He has 25 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.    Rod will be deeply missed and is in our hearts and lives forever!

Funeral Services will be held Friday July 12 at 10:00 am with a Viewing at 9:00 am at the Lovelake chapel in Taylor. The burial will take place at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor, Arizona.
