Rosemary Hunt, age 80, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Mercy Gilbert Hospital in Gilbert, Arizona, after suffering a massive heart attack at her home in San Tan Valley. Rosemary was born in Painesville, Ohio, March 6, 1944 to Albert Leonard Field and Ruth Elizabeth Freiberger. She was the oldest living daughter of 11 children. Her family moved to Avondale, Arizona in 1948. It was here that she grew up, attended school, and met her highschool sweetheart, Ralph Hunt. She took college classes at night and graduated from Lambson’s Business College at the same time she graduated High School. She excelled academically and especially loved home economics, and won many awards for clothes she created and sewed herself. Rosemary and Ralph were married June 22, 1963. She was 19. They were later sealed in the Mesa, Arizona Temple on December 12, 1969. They lived in Avondale, Az for a few years where they welcomed their first two children. They then decided to move to Taylor, Arizona and started a farm on the Hunt homestead. They worked hard together growing alfalfa, corn, and their family. They added two more children and then became foster parents and were blessed to adopt another daughter. Rosemary had a very hard time during pregnancy and childbirth but loved and wanted more children, so this adoption was a big blessing.
With five children she really put her homemaking skills to good use, she sewed everything from fancy dresses, and frilly panties to designer jeans and western shirts! She made quilts of every kind, and designed and sewed floor to ceiling drapes for her home. She had a knack for interior design, was a sewing wonder, and very creative. When she had an idea, she came up with a way to make it a reality. She was a perfectionist in every way. She was organized and ran a clean home. She loved old country music and would listen while cleaning or sewing.
Other hobbies and interests were cooking and baking. Her pies were some of the best! She loved baking cookies, especially at Christmas time! She loved Christmas time, and made it magical for her kids! She would fill every inch of counter space with amazing speciality cookies, and loved giving them to neighbors and friends. Rosemary loved animals and had an assortment of pets from birds and fish to cats and dogs. She had a special love for poodles and Pomeraians. She also loved flower gardening and crafting. Her greatest joy was raising her children and enjoying her grandchildren.
Rosemary and Ralph moved to San Tan Valley, Az in their later years due to health reasons. This is where she spent her last 15 years. Her legacy will be one of dedication to her family and friends. She will be remembered for her generosity and for lifting those in need. She was loved by all and will be sorely missed. Rosemary is survived by her husband, Ralph, and their 5 children; Daniel Hunt, Denise Staker, Donna Larson, David Hunt, and Debbie Meitner; twenty one grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; as well as her 8 siblings; Albert Field Jr, Bruce Field, James Field, Christine Hall, Carol Leonard, Linda Babin, Nancy Field, and Elizabeth Field Hart. Funeral services will be held at 11am on November 16, 2024 at the Love Lake Chapel in Taylor, Arizona, with a viewing and visitation beginning at 10 am.
