Ruby Jean Lupe Cournoyer entered into eternal rest on April 2, 2026, in Lawrence, Kansas, surrounded by loved ones. She was born to Adam and Charlene Lupe on November 9, 1970.
Ruby was Miss HozhoĆi for Fort Lewis College in 1989 and Miss White Mountain Apache Queen ‘91-‘92. She graduated from Alchesay High School, Class of 1988, and later attended Fort Lewis College. She worked in customer service and retail. Her hobbies included beading, sewing, and Pow Wow dancing; she was a fancy shawl dancer. She lived in Whiteriver, Arizona; Durango, Colorado; South Dakota and Idaho.
Ruby is survived by her son, Adam Cournoyer; her grandson, Isaiah Cournoyer; her brothers, Pino Lupe and Macido Fall; and her sisters, Kathy Redbird, Denise Lupe, Mary Lupe, and Pam Lupe.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, Adam Lupe, Sr. and Charlene Johnson Lupe; her brothers, Loterio Lupe and Adam Lupe, Jr.; and her nephews, Loterio Lupe, Cody Cosay, Joseph Cosay, Shawn Key, and Kiesean Lupe.
