Ryan Keith Chavez

Ryan Keith Chavez entered eternal rest unexpectedly on January 16, 2023, in Olympia, Washington.  He was born on January 20, 1981, to Fred and Linda Chavez.  Ryan was raised in Whiteriver, Arizona, attended school here in Whiteriver, and graduated from Alchesay High School.  He entered the US Navy soon after, where he served as a corpsman in the Global War on Terrorism.  Upon returning, he received several medals.  Ryan loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, just being in the wilderness.  He had an immense love for family, friends, and especially for the love of his life, his son, Roman.  He served in the Global War on Terrorism, joining the Navy on August 25, 1999, and was honorably discharged on July 26, 2004. 

Ryan is survived by his father, Fred Chavez; his son, Roman Quentin Chavez; brother, Ryan Joseph Chavez; his sisters, Sammye Prins (Tyrone), Marie Garcia, Dionne Sanchez (David), and Lorrie Chavez; his nephews, Sheridan Kinney, Skyler Prins (Genna), Anthony Coriz, Ryan Conrad Coriz; his nieces, Shade Tenijieth (Matthew), Maelena Coriz, Cecline Coriz, Jolee Chavez, Valaina Kadayso, Kostochalesah Kadayso, and many grandchildren.

Ryan was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Mae Chavez; brother, Conrad Cole Chavez; niece, Suzette Cameron Garcia, and grandson, Giraiya Sante Prins.

The service will be held St. Francis Catholic Church on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 8:30 a.m. and interment following at the Whiteriver Cemetery.
