Sally Ann Parker

Sally Ann Parker (Irwin) passed into the arms of our Lord on April 23, 2023 in her home in Overgaard, AZ.  She was 74. 

Sally was born to Frank and Bertha (Siebert) Irwin on June 11, 1948 in Bay City, MI.  She is survived by many family members including her spouse Brian Parker as well as her children Michelle (Lakso) Carol and Christopher Lakso.  She also leaves 3 grandchildren: Gabrielle, Logan and Greyson as well as her mother Bertha, sisters Barbara, Bonnie, Cindy and Holly and brothers David and Roger and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Sally was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church.  She was both baptized and confirmed.  She attended St. John’s Lutheran School in Midland, MI.  A loyal servant to God, she was passionate about sharing His Word with others.  After moving to Overgaard from Durango, CO, she joined as an active member of Faith Lutheran Church.  She participated in LWML for many years in both Durango and Overgaard.  She also helped with preschool and youth group activities.

Sally had a zest for life.  She cherished time spent with family and friends.  She enjoyed hiking and spending time outdoors exploring nature.  She even helped Brian build igloos north of Durango, CO for several years running.  Sally had a passion for sewing and quilting.  She enjoyed making quilts, banners for church and general sewing and craft projects.  Her talent of being a seamstress allowed her to create and alter many prom dresses in addition to dresses for brides and bridesmaids. 

In her recent years she battled cancer as hard as anyone could.  One thing can be said by anyone that knew Sally – she always had a positive attitude and was determined to be well again one day.  Even until the very end she fought with courage and grace.
