Sherree Lewis Obituary

Sherree Rogers was born April 17, 1934, to Paul Moroni Rogers and Vera Shumway Rogers.  She was the third of five children.  She graduated from Snowflake High School in 1952.  She was a cheerleader, a member of the National Honor Society, and attended Girl’s State.  She loved singing, dancing, drama, and softball.  In 1957, she married Marion Benson Lewis in the Mesa, Arizona Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Together they have 11 children, 38 grandchildren, and 46 great-grandchildren.  Her life has been full of gardening, camping, road shows, cooking, singing, Relief Society, prayer, nursery rhymes, novels, Cub Scouts, canning, homemade bread, softball games, Young Women, sewing, and poetry. She leaves behind a legacy of service, laughter, fun, and a love of Jesus Christ.   

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul Moroni Rogers and Vera Shumway Rogers; her sister, Ione Willis; her daughter, Amy Jean Whetten; and two granddaughters: Jessica Nicole Lewis and Amy Louise Whetten.  She is survived by her husband, Ben Lewis; her siblings: Anna Lou Kurt, Judy Ramsey, and Shum (Kathy) Rogers; her children: Benda (Barry) Eggleston, Karlie (Ron) Valles, Ivy (Craig)Jones, Matt (Suzy) Lewis, Glen Whetten, Stuart Lewis, Tana (Saul) Eggleston, David (Cher) Lewis, Vera Sue (Salim) Jabbour, Megan Gould, Dennis (Audrey) Lewis, 36 grandchildren, and 46 great-grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held Friday, August 30th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 301 Love Lake Road in Taylor Arizona at 10:00 am, with a viewing Thursday evening from 6:00-7:30 and Friday morning from 9:00-9:45.
