Sylvia Lavender

Sylvia Lavender Passed away peacefully at the Whiteriver Hospital, on August 20th, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. Sylvia was born on September 9th, 2022, to Renzo & Milicent Tonay, she grew up in Cibecue her whole life. Sylvia had a love for music, from gospel to country with George Strait being her favorite, she was an outgoing lady and loved to interact with people. Sylvia worked at Cibecue schools and the Cibecue feeding site for the past few years. Sylvia loved her family, children & grandchildren. She will be missed.

Sylvia is survived by her daughters, Sandy Danford, Joy Gatewood, Geniece Tonay and Janicka Lavender.  

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents Renzo & Milicent Tonay, sons, Justin Tonay and Jeremy Tonay and a brother Wilbur Tonay.

A Wake will be held Friday September 2, 2022, at the Cibecue Pentecostal Church starting at 9:00 am with a service following at 12:00 noon. Sylvia will be laid to rest at the Open Range Cemetery, Cibecue, Arizona.
