Sylvia Wright passed away surrounded by loved ones unexpectedly on November 21, 2025 in Whiteriver, Arizona. She was born in Whiteriver to Cato Bonito and Juanita Antonio on June 7, 1956.
Sylvia “Soph” Wright grew up in Canyon Day, and attended school in Stewart, Nevada. She married Manuel Wright, Sr, in 1977. Together they had six children. Sylvia devoted her life to God and spent her time at the Canyon Day Miracle Church as a member. She loved spending her time with family, traveling, joking around, and sewing various things. She was someone who loved helping everyone, liked helping the church, and helping cook at wakes and funerals. Sylvia was a sister, mom, auntie, and grandma.
Sylvia is survived by her children, Manuel Wright, Jr., Becky Wright, Kimberly Wright, Pacal Bonito and Tiffany Wright; her brothers, Leroy Bonito, Francis Cooley, Leon Zahgotah, Anderson Bonito; sister, Arlene Shipp; grandchildren, Marisa Platt, Alexie Wright, Tanner Smith, Damian Platt, Ollie Smith, Jai-Dean Wright, Chelsea Smith, Desirae Alama, Megan Crocker and Toni Crocker; and great-grandchildren, Avery Smith and Kayola Lee.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Wright, Sr.; son, Jonathan Wright, and brother, Preston Bonito.
Sylvia’s wake is Friday, November 28, 2025, at 10 a.m. at 4706 South 8th Street, #42, in Canyon Day, Arizona. Her funeral is at the same address on November 19, 2025, at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at the Canyon Day Cemetery.
