Taeyana Tysha Altaha peacefully went home surrounded by loved ones on June 15th , 2022 at her home in Cedar Creek, Arizona.
Taeyana was born in Whiteriver, Arizona on September 16th, 1998, to Alberta and Gerald Altaha. She lived in Canyon Day where she finished her high school years graduating from Alchesay High School with Honors. She went on to American Indian College in Phoenix where she excelled and graduated as Salutatorian. She loved football and played for the all-women’s Arizona football team the “Assassins”. Taeyan loved education and became a teacher where she taught in Phoenix, JFK School in Cedar Creek and Canyon Day Jr. High School. With her great experience and love of sports, she coached the undefeated Rough Riders of Canyon Day. She also had a great love of the outdoors and enjoyed camping and fishing.
Taeyana is survived by her loving parents: mother, Alberta Altaha, and father: Gerald Altaha. Her brother’s: Fritzgerald and Garrett, her sister: Kimberley Altaha, her nieces: Akayla, Kaylee and Shanelle, nephew: Shawn Alex, lots of aunt’s uncles, friends, cousins, and coworkers near and far. Taeyana is preceded in death by her grandparents: Dernie & Sarah Bead and Cornalius & Lorretta Altaha. She was loved by all she met and will be missed by everyone.
Services for Taeyana are as follows: Wake starting at 4:00 pm on Thursday, June 23rd, 2022, at her mother’s home in Canyon Day, 4609 S. 8th Street. There will be a service at the Canyon Day Assembly of God church at 10:00 am on Friday, June 24th, 2022. Interment will follow at Canyon Day Cemetery
