Taylor Pete entered eternal rest on July 15, 2025, at home in Snowflake, Arizona. He was born on March 17, 1943, to Dale and Caroline Pete.
Taylor lived in Steamboat Canyon, Arizona until he was 5 years old and then his family moved to Parker, Arizona where he started school. He was put in the Indian Placement Program when he was in 5th grade and was placed in Long Beach, California. He stayed in California until he graduated high school then he went home to White Cone, Arizona.
Shortly after that, he joined the Army and served for 2 years from March 25, 1965, to March 24, 1967. After he was released, he came home and married Rena Yazzie on August 6, 1967. He had a job in White Cone, Arizona but then in 1968 Taylor, Rena, and their newborn son moved to Snowflake, Arizona. He got a job at the Snowflake Dormitory and worked there until 1980. After that, he worked at the Papermill in Snowflake until he retired in 2005.
Taylor was a cowboy who loved to fish and go camping. He loved spending time with his grandkids and loved ones. He enjoyed taking his kids to rodeos and roping’s. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Taylor is survived by his children Curtis Pete (Sherri), Troy Pete (Wilma), Tammie Pete Shirley (Shawn), Dusty Pete, and Shelly Pete (Ron Begay). Along with his grandchildren, Dorsen Batala, Kristen Polacca, Brittin W. Shirley, Clayton Jay Pete (CJ), Rayna, Gabby Pete, Russell Taylor Pete, Shelliyah Robinson, Alice Begay, Miranda Begay, Dorsen Leroy Batala,Kristin Polacca, Draven Batala, and Dayce Batala. Also, by May Pete Shawna Compton, Vera Pete, Juanita Dennison (Darrell), Jerry Pete.
Preceded in death by Dale & Caroline Pete (parents), Rena Pete (wife), Russell Jay Pete (Son), Sarah Fielding, Lester Pete, Johnny Pete, Peter Yellowhair (grandfather), Maggie Yellowhair (grandmother), Merrell Batala (grandson), Tyler Polaca (grandson).

A Graveside Service will take place on July 18, 2025 at 10 am at the R.V. Mike Ramsay Cemetery in Snowflake, Arizona.
