Timothy T. Riley entered into rest at his home on February 21, 2021. He passed in his own from a long battle with illness, peacefully and in a dignified and humble way, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on February 24, 1966 to Starrett and Mary Garland-Riley in Whiteriver, AZ.
Tim “Shum” grew up in a loving home surrounded by his siblings, the youngest of his family. He often told stories of his past, about old friends or co-workers.As a young man, he often spoke of his oldest sister and living with her and her family in Payson, AZ. He spoke of his brothers who taught him to be respectful and to work for his family and to attend church and receive teaching from the Bible. Another sister helped him often in her kind and loving way. Tim was a man who was very humble and never denied a child who called him grandpa of daddy. His surroundings were out in the high country, hunting, joy riding and working.
Tim worked with Pinetop Logging, Earl’s Logging, Webb Logging, Holliday Logging Co., Holls Logging, Jaggo Logging, Mike Holls Logging Co., Rodney Logging, Silver Creek Logging and the Rock Crushing Com. He lived to work for logging companies. He also worked with the Game & Fish of WMAT, as a wolf monitor. He worked as a cowboy, riding his horses and running fences and repairing. Always a cowboy and logger.
Tim is survived by his wife: Mabelene S. Riley of 26 years; step-children: Suijetta Crocker, Morie Crocker, Rosinda Daley, Rocky Riley Jr., Gwen Massey and Eddison Aday; his children: Timo Riley Sr., Timberly Riley, Timyra Riley and Tiffany Riley; extended children: Sarah Greyeyes, Emma Lin George, Danny Yazzie and Amy Seymour; sisters: Evangeline R. Gatewood, Erma G. Adley, Estralita Riley and Matilda Edwards; and brothers: Rocky Riley Sr. and Nathaniel Riley. He is preceded in death by his parents: Starrett & Mary G. Riley; brothers: Starrett Riley Jr. and Murphy Riley; sister: Isabelle R. Comanche; son: Virgilson Riley and grandsons: Intonio Riley and Jaa-Ray Beatty.
A Viewing will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 2 pm to 4 pm at Silver Creek Mortuary in Pinetop, AZ. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, March 6th, 2021 at 1pm at the Garland Family Plot in East Fork, AZ.
