William "Bill" Hargett Obituary

William “Bill” Hargett passed away January 6, 2021, in Mesa Arizona. He was born July 19, 1942, to Robert E Lee Hargett and Mary Jean Blount Hargett in Phoenix, Arizona.  He met the love of his life in 1965, Gloria Garcia Hargett. He married her as soon as he could and was married for 52 years before she passed away.

He is survived by his children; Diana M. Hargett, Audrey A. Hargett, Joseph A. Hargett (Tabetha).

Grandchildren: Larry Diehl, Christina Diehl, Adam Crosby, Korin Scheuneman, William Hargett, Maria Hargett And Evelyn Hargett.

Great Grandkids: Matthew Seethaler, Kahlan Diehl, Lanah Seethaler, Peyton Diehl, Meghan Diehl, Fiona Diehl, Selina Hageman and Kimbralee Hageman.

Siblings: Roberta Jean King, Virginia Lee “Ginger” Hargett and Frank Richard Hargett (Barbara).

Bill served his country as a Seabee in the US Navy and continued with the Arizona National Guard until he retired. He worked at the Snowflake Papermill from 1965 until his retirement in 1998.

He would always find someone to talk to and was friendly to all. He was known as “Uncle Bill” by younger friends and “Papa” or “Papa Hank” by his grandchildren.

Bill was known for his smile and his mustache; even if he wasn’t doing well, he always had a smile. When asked how he was doing he would love to say, “I’m good, but I’ll get over it!”

One of the things he enjoyed doing every year was to count the kids who would trick or treat at his home. He would remember if you came back twice in one night. And had a goal to have more kids than the previous years.

He loved to get in his truck and just drive. If you were blessed to be invited to go along for the ride, you would have to agree, those are memorable times.

Bill was a loving caring father, who raised his family to love God through his constant devotion to his Catholic faith. He was loved by all and will be dearly missed.

His celebration of life will be Saturday. January 16, 2021. at Our Lady of the Snows in Snowflake. Viewing and rosary at 10 am, with mass starting at 11 am.

Graveside services will be Saturday January 23, 2021 at 11 am at the Mike Ramsey Memorial Park.
